In todays world, business practices and human rights sometimes seem at odds: balancing the needs for businesses to be efficient and profitable, while at the same, protecting the rights of workers is a challenge that must be met.泭
The UN, in the Sustainable Development Goals set forth in its 2030 Agenda, is leading the way towards sustainable development with a plan to ensure public-private cooperation for a new win-win outcome in this area of human rights.泭Sustainable development recognizes that eradicating poverty in all its forms, combating inequality within and among countries, preserving the environment, creating sustained and inclusive economic growth and fostering social inclusion are linked to each other and might be in the long run in the fundamental interest of business. 泭
